Pound for Pound Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 11, 2026
Pound for Pound Games is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. For questions or privacy requests, email hello@poundforpoundgames.com.
We use game analytics to understand broad patterns, improve gameplay and balance, and find performance problems. We use optional error reports to fix bugs. We never sell your personal information. We do not use it for advertising or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
This policy covers the Pound for Pound game, its analytics and error reporting, and privacy-related correspondence. Stores and platforms such as Steam handle their own accounts, purchases and platform services under their own policies.
Your choices
In the updated game with Settings → Privacy, gameplay analytics and error reporting are separate, optional choices. Both start off. You can play with both off without losing features or receiving a gameplay penalty. Earlier versions used opt-out analytics; the updated game requires a fresh choice rather than treating that old setting as consent.
You can enable or disable either choice in Settings → Privacy, including from the main menu. Disabling a choice stops new collection for that purpose, discards unsent reports, and cancels outstanding requests where possible. Data already received cannot be recalled by cancelling a request. Re-enabling collection does not replay queued activity from before your choice.
Disabling reporting or uninstalling the game does not automatically delete information already received. Email us to request deletion. Choices are stored for this installation, separately from your career saves. Check your choices separately on other installations.
What we collect
Gameplay analytics, only if enabled. PostHog receives a randomly generated installation ID, a session ID, event timestamps, game version, operating system, demo/build status and a launch-environment licensing signal. Records include game actions and navigation, tutorial and feature usage, progression, event and fight outcomes, simulation details and performance measurements. Examples include game week and year, promotion tier and prestige, Promotional Capital, roster size and events run. Performance information includes processor and graphics-adapter details, display resolution and memory measurements.
We use the installation ID to understand returning-player patterns and compare game usage across sessions. PostHog can group events into profiles under that random ID. The purpose is broad product analysis, not identifying you by name or targeting you with advertising. These linked records are pseudonymous, not fully anonymous.
Error reports, only if enabled. Sentry receives reports of unhandled C# exceptions and unobserved task exceptions captured by the managed reporting integration. Reports contain error types, code function names, source-file names and line locations, event time, game version, build type, operating system and the random installation ID. The updated client removes raw error-message content and absolute file paths from these reports. It does not attach screenshots, log files, saved games, local variables, gameplay breadcrumbs or player-entered promotion names. Native engine crash uploads are disabled.
Connection information. A receiving service necessarily sees the IP address used to connect. The analytics client requests that PostHog skip IP-derived location enrichment. Error payloads use a placeholder instead of your IP address. These measures do not hide the network connection from hosting providers or eliminate their operational access logs.
Local data. The game stores saves and settings on your device. Privacy preferences include your choices, their update time and the notice version. A random reporting ID is created only after you enable optional collection. An ID from an older version may remain so you can reference historical records in a privacy request. Platform-managed services may separately store or synchronize data according to the platform's settings and policies.
Correspondence. If you contact us, we receive your email address and whatever information you choose to include. We use this to answer your question or handle your request. Please avoid sending passwords or unnecessary sensitive information.
Why we process information
We rely on consent for optional gameplay analytics and error reporting. You may withdraw that consent in Settings → Privacy. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
We use correspondence to respond to requests and provide support, based on our legitimate interest in helping players and operating the game. Where a request concerns a legal privacy right or another legal obligation, we process the necessary information to comply with that obligation. We do not use analytics to make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Service providers and international processing
PostHog provides gameplay analytics; Sentry provides managed error reporting. Their infrastructure providers may also process information to deliver those services. Providing data to these services for the purposes above is different from selling it or using it for advertising.
The game is configured to send analytics and diagnostic reports to US ingestion services. Information may be processed outside your country, where legal protections may differ. The providers offer data-processing terms and international-transfer provisions, including standard contractual clauses where applicable. You can read PostHog's data-processing terms and Sentry's data-processing terms, or contact us about the safeguards applicable to your information. These provider documents are not a substitute for our obligations to you.
Earlier versions sent analytics to a Railway-hosted database and included more detailed Sentry context, such as promotion names and gameplay activity. This policy's contact and rights-request process also covers historical information we still hold. The updated client no longer sends analytics to that legacy database.
We may disclose information when required by law or when necessary to respond to a lawful request or protect legal rights. We do not give advertisers or data brokers access to game analytics.
How long information is kept
We limit retention to what is needed for the purposes described here. For analytics, the criteria are whether records are still needed to measure feature adoption and returning-player patterns, compare game releases, or investigate balance and performance issues. For error reports, the criteria are whether a problem remains under investigation and whether the information is still needed to verify a fix or understand a recurrence. Records no longer needed for those purposes should be deleted or converted into statistics that no longer identify an installation.
Correspondence and privacy-request records are retained as needed to resolve the request, document its handling and meet applicable legal obligations. Legal requirements or disputes may require longer retention of relevant records. Backup and provider deletion schedules may affect when all copies are removed. Contact us for information about the retention applicable to a particular record.
The game's unsent analytics queue is held in memory and discarded when you disable analytics. The managed error-reporting integration does not keep a persistent report cache. Local saves and settings remain until you remove them; removing them does not itself erase provider-side records.
Your privacy rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may request access to or a copy of your information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or data portability, and may object to certain processing. You can withdraw optional collection consent at any time. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
Send requests to hello@poundforpoundgames.com. If available, include the privacy ID shown in Settings → Privacy; the Copy Privacy ID button helps you provide it without creating a new identifier. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your request and locate the records. You do not need to create an account to contact us. If you no longer have the ID, we will explain what information we can reasonably locate without collecting unnecessary new identifiers.
We respond within the period required by applicable law, generally one month for GDPR requests and 45 calendar days for applicable California requests. If a permitted extension or exception applies, we will explain it. You may use an authorized agent where the law permits; we may need evidence of authorization. If we deny a request, you can reply to ask for a review and exercise any applicable appeal rights.
California privacy information
Where the CCPA, as amended by the CPRA, applies, rights include knowing and accessing personal information, correcting it, requesting deletion, and receiving equal treatment when exercising privacy rights. Applicable rights also include opting out of sale or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising and limiting certain uses of sensitive personal information.
The relevant categories described in this policy are identifiers, internet or electronic activity, technical diagnostic information, and information you voluntarily provide in correspondence. They come from your game installation, its operation and your communications. Analytics providers receive analytics records, diagnostic providers receive error reports, and communication providers handle correspondence for the purposes described above. We do not intentionally request sensitive personal information for game analytics.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, including information about minors. There is no sale or advertising-sharing activity to opt out of. A browser preference signal such as Global Privacy Control does not replace the game's separate optional-reporting controls. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
Children and young players
The game does not ask for a date of birth as part of its analytics choices. If parental authorization is required by the law where you live, a parent or guardian should contact us before optional reporting is enabled. If you believe information from a child was collected without required authorization, contact hello@poundforpoundgames.com so we can investigate and address the request. This paragraph does not waive any protection children have under applicable law.
Changes and contact
We will update the date on this policy when it changes. Material changes to optional collection will be explained through an updated notice, and we will seek a new choice where required. The updated game makes this policy available from its privacy controls.
